In most video games that have enemies (platform/overhead action; role-playing games; etc) usually there are more lesser (i.e. non-boss) enemies than bosses. But are there video games were there are more bosses than varieties than lesser enemies? For instance, there may be a game that has nine stages (each with a boss, so nine bosses total), but only seven varieties of lesser enemies (but of those seven varieties, a lot of them). I’m asking because I hope to someday program my own video games, and don’t want to feel inferior because there are more bosses than regular enemies. So, are there games were there are more boss enemies than varieties of regular enemies? If so, could you list some examples, please?

I see people in the game who do the whole long actions out in orange, and I want to know how. Is it an add on? I know how to dance, bow, sleep, etc. All the simple stuff. But how do I create a whole long action in the role play game?

What are the demographics of people who play role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, back when the first came out, and today? I have the impression that this is a thing for young or teenage boys, but I’m wondering, did they keep playing these games as they grew up? Have girls gotten into these games these days? Are these games still popular or did they sort of rise and then fall? (3 hours ago – 2 answers )

We are currently working our way through Resident Evil 5. We really enjoy the teamwork, but the game makes her a little jumpy. We both enjoy role playing games and like the action/adventure elements, and she seems to enjoy upgrading the weapons in RE5. Can anyone reccomend some games that we might be able to enjoy together (preferably for Xbox 360, but Wii and PS3 games are fine too)?

Any role playing adventure games that are similar to Lord of the Rings, Any kind of game where there are cool fantasy creatures (like God of War, Lord of the Rings) that is for ps2.

Also, please don’t recommend those kinds of games where the camera angle is really high in the air (like in that game Legion: The Legend of Excalibur) those are really annoying and my boyfriend cannot play them because he has problems with his eyesight.

    Thanks!

Fighting? and what type of story/theme would u like it to be aobut? Reason i ask is because i am a game designer and I am interested in designing a game for the female market. Thanks for your help.

I play airsoft, but i am looking for something that is for some of my friends that are more into roleplaying and less into getting shot by bbs. i have been looking into Live Action Role Playing to find answers, but it is a vast subject. i’ve done some research online, and ive found that some use Lasertag, Nerf darts, props with dice(ew), and some even Cap guns. none of these really meet my needs, as i require a mix of safety, fun(shooting projectiles at other people is fun) and realism(not Nerf or lasertag-looking guns). what other methods do LARPers use to simulate firearms? okay, I don’t think i made my question clear enough. I am not asking wether paintball or airsoft is better. although i am an active airsoft entheusiest, I am not going to use airsoft OR paintball in this case because i do NOT want required protective gear. i want people to be able to wear costumes and act and such. next, I am not recreating a tactical skirmish. I have friends that are into that, and i am trying to create a game for a different group of friends, ones that arnt as active and dont want to get shot by bbs or paintballs. I am working on a ROLE PLAYING game, not a tactical wargame. I am looking for a way of representing firearms and wether or not someone hits their target. I kind of like the idea of cap guns, but i dont know a GOOD way to determine wether or not they hit.

I have the idea of creating and generating a massive LARP (live action role-play) session using a minimum of 100 people. I currently have 97 people willing to participate but I don’t know the legal requirements, average prices that are charged, insurance and were I can get proper gear for cheap or rental. Can anyone help me with this? Can you give me an overall view on it but be specific on the legal portion? Thank you.

I’m normally a First Person Shooter and Action/Adventure and Role Playing Game genre person. But lately I’m getting back into Racing games. I use to be a huge fan of the Need For Speed games. That was until I played Carbon. Carbon was f*cking garbage. After that I lost my taste for racing games. Few years later I tried out Burnout Paradise, loved it. Then a buddy let me borrow Need For Speed: The Run. Wasn’t too bad. But I’ll be honest. I got the new version of Most Wanted. I’m in love with Need For Speed again. The Original Most Wanted was my favorite of the older NFS games. And the new Most Wanted is honestly 10x better then it.

    So what are y’all playing?

I bought dead reign. From the looks of it the gamemaster tells you whats happening and you have to decide what action you take. Then the action goes by the rules of the book.

He claimed he purchased it with coins-which he had to considering there is no way he could have bought it with gems. So, I get on, and I try to purchase this Sorcerer, but I can’t. I don’t have access to gems either, so, I tried to buy him with coins but It said I could only purchase the sorcerer with gems… this dosen’t make any sense.

As anyone can tell who has watched the News, gone shopping, or given your paycheck a long, hard stare, you must have realized we are going through a recession which will make the holidays slightly depressing. Which was why I was faced with a conundrum when I thought about what I should put on my Christmas list. I have a choice between two consoles, each having a purpose that I would really like to utilize. The first is a new PC that is gaming compatible. I really need a new laptop seeing as my current one is over five years old this Christmas and will no longer allow me to play any Sims or PC games. So of course I almost went on a rampage when my computer crashed three days after installing The Sims Three. For now my computer is only good for writing, and even that purpose is slowly withering away. I can no longer access Google or Bing for any websites that I could publish on or any blue prints of a certain appliance that I need. So along with my intense want to finally experience the Sims as it was meant to be, controlling a creatures movements in a matter of seconds, disregarding if there half way across town. You may think that this would make me put this on my list and forget about any other systems, but your dead wrong. After the Wii nintendo came out, I have been missing that feeling of pride whenever I save the princess or get pass the dungeon. The Wii only focuses on the psychical part of video gaming, and in my world those two words should not be in the same sentence unless describing the players character in the game, or telling how said gamer does not get enough psychical activity, no offense to any gamers that might find this offensive, as I’m sure some of you aren’t like the stereo-typical gamer of yesterday. Well, back to the topic at hand, I wish to own a X-Box 360, that in my opinion would spark back my interest in gaming that was killed after receiving my Rock Band Set during Christmas of 2008. The X-box 360 allows the player to connect with friends around the world, or even across the street, allows you to play with anyone the owns the same game as you such as Left 4 Dead, that makes a point in it’s game play to work with others. Other uses that I find fascinating is the option to by video games solely from your 360, walking not included along with storage, not counting memory for 360 of course. You can see why I am having a difficult time choosing between these two, seeing as laptops are starting to become more mandatory in schools, and if I get a new one this year, by the time I graduate from high school, I will be equipped with a newer version as soon as the one provided during Christmas 2009 dies. Yet on the other hand, I want to experience gaming on a whole other level, and getting tired of the Wii. Then there is the second issue at hand, my birthday which follows closely after Christmas. thirty-four days to be exact. So I have four options, option A: go with the PC, option B: go with the X-box 360, and option C: ask for laptop for Christmas, and ask for X-Box 360 for my birthday, and option D: ask for an X-Box 360 for Christmas and a PC for my birthday.

Please give me your input on what option I should go with and why you think so. If you think I should go with either D or C, tell me why you think I would be able to get one more likely in December then in January. Thank you for any help you may provide.

We saw in July the mass shooter James Holmes opened fire on to a theater crowd, killing 12 people and wounding 58. Before the shootings, he was reported to have visited three different psychiatrists and was doing poorly in his academics. He failed a written comprehensive exam but he had a chance to retake it. A few days prior to his oral exam he filled up papers to formally withdraw from the university. His pre-PhD record, in contrast, was very impressive: He graduated with highest honors in neuroscience with a GPA of 3.95 and was believed to be the very best according to his recommended.

We see almost the same profile with Adam Lanza. He is described in many articles as “shy, highly intelligent and introverted.” At the age of 16 he enrolled in college before leaving with a GPA of 3.26 (B+ average). However, he had problems at home. His parents divorced when he was 17 and he was withdrawing from his classes often.

I’m painting lots of characters and stuff on my wall as like a big sort of arrangment of retro arcade games.

I’ve got the characters from Pacman and Space Invaders. What other old classic arcade games are there?

What are the demographics of people who play role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, back when the first came out, and today? I have the impression that this is a thing for young or teenage boys, but I’m wondering, did they keep playing these games as they grew up? Have girls gotten into these games these days? Are these games still popular or did they sort of rise and then fall? (3 hours ago – 2 answers )

I love playing Oblivion and Skyrim and I would like to try other games but I don’t know what games to try. What game would should I try that is an action role-playing open world game? I don’t like games with guns, games set in modern times, or mmo’s.

Can you tell me about the best available role playing games in the medieval-fantasy genre, preferably containing a good amount of melee action-combat as well some bits of problem solving-strategy. NOTE: I am NOT looking for any type of MMORPG’s / ORPG’s etc.

Any role playing adventure games that are similar to Lord of the Rings, Any kind of game where there are cool fantasy creatures (like God of War, Lord of the Rings) that is for ps2.

Also, please don’t recommend those kinds of games where the camera angle is really high in the air (like in that game Legion: The Legend of Excalibur) those are really annoying and my boyfriend cannot play them because he has problems with his eyesight.

    Thanks!

Is it based on whether it’s an adjective or noun in context of a sentence? Or is it based on how the sentence flows?

For example, “A live action role-playing game.”

Why doesn’t “live action” have a hyphen? Why does “role-playing”? They both sound the same…

I’m interested in starting to play Role Playing games with some of my friends who might enjoy it, but I’ve never played even though I’ve seen videos on the internet of playing it and they look like they are having the time of their lives. Is there anyone that has played these before, enjoyed them and can explain the fun in them.

P.S. It’s for board game versions (for people who could get it mixed up).

    Thanks.

Thank you.

I’m looking at shooters, racing games, adventure games, role playing games, and action games. I want to play my PS3 with my older brother, I mean whats the point in having two controllers if you only ever use one of them for online multiplayer?

All suggestions are welcome, and there will be a best answer.

I bought dead reign. From the looks of it the gamemaster tells you whats happening and you have to decide what action you take. Then the action goes by the rules of the book.

Is that how role playing games are supposed to be played?

And, will I need a controller for it?

I like single player games with mild action, role play ( like final fantasy, oblivion ), tycoon games ( loved rollercoaster 3 and zoo tycoon ) and games like Myst.

Please: NO SPORTS. I know there are excellent sports games out there – but I’m not interested.

By the way, I am an adult in my 30s, so also not looking for child games either.

    Thank you.

I can’t exactly remember and Google is not helping at all. I know I used to watch it a lot when I was younger. All I know is it involved two kids playing a role playing game and it was making fun of Dungeons and Dragons.

So i have been going through a nostalgic type faze playing classic play-station 1 games Such as Final fantasy 7-9, Star ocean: the second story. But although they are fun i was wondering if any other game out there had the same action based adventure/Role playing game style. I know there are games like suikoden or even wild arms. But i was looking more for the whole team type game, yet turned base battle type. Any suggestions?

I’ve had a Nintendo 3DS for about six months, but the only games I’ve bought so far are exclusives like Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2. I don’t know of any other titles that are good for the 3DS. What are some good games that are available in-store or on the eShop? I’m into any type of game, although I’m not very skilled at role playing games.

I don’t need very detailed ones or characters. They ideas are for my friend and I. We have played games such as Bleach themed ones, Mutants, Zombies, Skyrim, Prince/Princess, Samurai, Pokemon, Mob.. I don’t know what else we could do. She likes to play as a guy. We both like fantasy, romance, suspense, action, etc. We can come up with ideas that are extremely similar to what we have already done, but they get boring and fast. I need ideas for fun, epic ones. Please help. I’m addicted to role playing with my friend honestly.
