Some of the old coins I’ve found are so dirty and/or corroded (?) that I cannot read the entire date or mint letter. Will Tarn-X damage the coins or alter the value of them? Thanks!

I’m just wondering what coins that have been released in the past 20 or 30 years starting from today should you be on the look out for? The whole USA quarter collection must be worth something several years from now?

Assume the 100 coins consist randomly of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Each coin has an equal probability of being selected.
Just as a side note, I got the idea for this question at toll booth. So I suppose this does have some type of real-world application.

Is it okay if i just put them all in a glass jar? I thought of warping it with plastic wraps, those for food. Will it damage the coin if i wrap it? Help! Thanks! :)

I’ve got a small collection of silver coins from various countries, all from the 20th century. I’ve no idea if they’re worth anything or not, but it would be good to find out.

I tried searching on Google for coin prices, but I just got the same few sites over and over, which were pretty useless.

Is there a catalogue or something out there with guideline prices for coins?

I see people with these beautiful uncirculated coins and I’d like to start collecting them? How do I go about this? The coins are in mint condition, straight from the roll…I ask for coin rolls from the bank and I always get rolls that ordinary people wrap. I’d like to get the coins that come directly from the Fed…Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My husband has been saving his change for several years and yesterday we seperated the coins: 60 pounds of quarters, 55 pounds of pennies, 36 pounds of nickles and 25 pounds of dimes. Do banks have automatic rollers for coins? We don’t want to pay a fee to have them rolled.

Does anyone know if the exchange place would only charge a flat exchange fee or one based on the total amount of all the currency, or would they charge a flat rate/percentage based fee for each country’s currency I exchange?

    Hey,
I recently discovered different types of coins in my house and I can obviously tell, from the look and wording on them, some are foreign coins. Many of the coins I have found, along with dollar bills ($), are mainly from the early 1900′s up until around the 1970′s.
My question, is there a good calculator online you could recommend that has all the different coins from different country’s so I could find out the values for today? Thank you

I have a HUGE coin collection of coins from around the world. They are all pretty old, from at least the year 2000 and below and I have one from 1892. I have sorted them into 2 piles; one pile is the coins that stuck to the magnet, the other pile is the coins which didn’t stick to the magnet. So I already know that silver isn’t magnetic but I’m having a hard time believing ALL the coins which didnt stick are silver. Any other methods of finding out? I dont have one of the really small scales the measure grams so yeah. Also, what other metals could my coins be if they aren’t magnetic? Thanks.

Now, obviously in America, this isn’t a problem, but I have a coin dating back to 1791 in France, two years after the start of the French Revolution. The coin features the face and name of Louis XVI. That same year, Louis was imprisoned by Parisian mobs and was executed two years later. So what happened to these coins after his death? Louis XVI was not exactly on good terms with the French people at that point, so what became of these coins? Were new coins minted with different leaders’ faces immediately (obviously they were eventually), or were the same coins used for some time?

I want them too look shiny. Condition is not an issue because these are just loose dollar coins, worth approximately just the dollar, and by that logic I dont need to worry about value I have other coins in that category (valuable). So if there are any effective cleaning methods for these non precious metal coins. Mind you I dont want to destroy the coin but a little wear isn’t an issue.

My girlfriend is a lead teller at our local bank and she is in charge of ordering the money and “coin” for the bank. My question is which is the best way for me to get silver coins. Is it from rolled coins from the reserve or circulated coins that come in from small business or customers? Also is there I certain coin that is more likely that would be silver (dimes, nickel, quarters etc)? Commemorative coins? Any help is appreciated.

Some coins and banknotes have unusual denominations. For example, there are coins of 4 doubles and 8 doubles in Guernesey, coins of 4 taris in Sicilia, 6 roubles, 15 kopecks, there are banknotes of 3 roubles. These values (4, 6, 8 and 15) are not common for coins and 3 is not common for a banknote. Do you know other coins and notes with odd denominations?

I’d like to hear about some terrible games, so I can review them on my Youtube channel (Xbox 360 only). If you feel that a certain video game is terrible enough, feel free to list it here along with your explanation(s) for why it sucks, even if it’s not for Xbox 360. Since I only have a 360, I can’t review anything else (although my brother owns a Wii and a Playstation 2). I’m looking for the worst of the worst, but if you can tell me about games with the following problems, I’d appreciate it:
No Replay Value: Once you beat the game, there are no extras or anything that makes it worth keeping.
Poor Graphics: The graphics are horrible or constantly glitchy.
Poor Gameplay: The gameplay is horrible and the controls are difficult if not impossible to figure out.
Inhumanely Difficult: Games that are SO HARD that you begin to suspect beating them is not even a possibility.
Too Easy: A game that is too easy and presents little to no challenge to the gamer whatsoever.
Too Short: A game that is so short that you think you would’ve been more content playing a game you’ve already beaten hundreds of times.
Too Expensive: A game that seems to cost more money than you think it’s actually worth.
Boring: A game that is hard to have fun playing.
Terrible Storyline: A storyline that makes no sense or isn’t engaging to the gamer.
No Continues: You screw up once, and it’s over!

Need For Speed: Most Wanted was a total LET DOWN. The racing was terrible and unrealistic, the modding was stupid and easy. All you had to do is win a race and you got like 2-3 mods for your car. I miss the oldstyled racing games where you had to race for money, save your money up, buy modifications, modify your car, and after awhile you will eventually buy a new and much better car, in which you will modify and so on. In NFS: Most Wanted, you search for cars, find them, run into them, and tada brand new car. You win a race, tada 3 mods. The game is so easy, and so stupid; everyone I know agrees it was a terrible waste of money and even though I’ve tried giving it a few months of gameplay – I’ve still yet to get use to it and love it. So now I ask the Y!A Community, what are some good racing games which are “legitimate and fun”. Would be an up if it can be a co-op racing game, I bought NFS: Most Wanted because I thought it would be fun and also co-op compatible so I can play with friends in the same house, but the best I have is multiplayer games where people bash into one another in their cars – and when the race finally starts… They continue the same crap.
I own and Xbox 360 but I like the PS3 more (personal opinion)

    Hey,

I’ve wanted to play this game that I’ve played before but I forgot the name of it. It was a really unique, fun, game. It had a problem with LAN multiplayer. After a little while my family would get kicked off of it which was kind of annoying but all in all single player was fun.

This game was set in the days of things like crusaders and what not; Medieval type stuff. You would choose a country flag for your character and then be able to choose things like. Your name, clothes, profession, skills. The professions where pretty unique too. You could be a politican, a craftsman, a barkeep, a farmer, thief, etc. You start out with some money and the first thing you have to do is buy a plot of land and build a house or company etc.

Over time your character gets older, they might have a family, your main character might get rich running a chain of workshops, stores, etc. You would then play as any of the family members. The perspective for this game could switch between RTS to Third person. There where dynamic events in the game like.. You could get robbed, or someone running against you in a political race could die.

I’d really like to play this game again but I forgot the name of it. I think it’s mostly known in Europe because I’ve never seen it advertised in America.
You are also able to mod this game using LUA

Just looking for coins with silver in them. Don’t have to be .9999 fine or any sort of collectible. Just coins widely recognized to have silver in them.

Do not want to pay large dealer markups or shipping charges either.

So what’s the smartest way to accumulate some silver coins?

So usually my friends and I play Minecraft (LAN multiplayer) on our phones during school breaks while using my S4 as a hotspot (no mobile data, LAN only). Do you know any other games that are fun to play, don’t require internet, and can be played with LAN multiplayer? Price doesn’t matter :)
    Thanks!

It’s so sad how the gaming community is so mean and they lack such etiquette. There is absolutely no reason to insult people over a game. I mean there are some if the guy is cheating or abusing something in the game. I’ve talked trash from time to time and everyone does it but not to every single person I meet. For example, I was playing Splinter Cell and I was running around with a loud gun and we got detected. But we got detected when we were ALLOWED to. That’s where he didn’t get it. Then he called me a noob and start getting angry. Then he ended the game. Then he starts saying it’s my fault. It wasn’t my fault because he quit the ENTIRE game. We would have kept going if he would have let me fix a mistake that I made. But no, he had to quit the game. Plus, back to my topic, it doesn’t matter if I’m a noob. Please don’t report this as ranting. I just want this to get this off my chest. It makes me want to kill myself when people become a threat over a video game. Plus what I was doing in Splinter Cell was intended just to have fun. I didn’t give 2 poops if I was detected or we didn’t go stealth. All I wanted to do was run around like a crazy person and blast people in the face and start laughing. Because doing that stuff is funny and that’s what games are all about- FUN. Back to my question, why do people get so threatening in gaming? Why are people so mean in gaming? Why do people have to put people down over a video game? Nobody cares if you’re a noob at a game. People always put noobs down just because they are new to the game. I’m not even a noob, he just insisted I was because I made only ONE mistake. Is this some psychological issue that people get so emotional with video games? Is it anger issues? What the F is going on? Over 70% I meet in multiplayer gaming, they are complete bullies who do nothing but call people names over a game. I cannot bear the absolute crap that the gaming community is and. I cannot stand how immature and how much etiquette is there lacking in gaming. I’m friggin 14 years old. I’m extremely, extremely upset with the gaming community of how disrespectful it is. Everyone should be nice to each other. People need to stop doing douchy things like the type of trolling to get people mad. Like trapping people in corners or the team kill trolls. I want to play Minecraft because I heard that the community in that game is outstanding. If the community is nice over there, hand me some 20 bucks and I’ll go buy that game tomorrow with no hesitation. I know it is the internet. But just because you are anonymous to the world doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want and act like a a**hole. You should have enough common sense, enough etiquette skills, and enough dignity in your soul to treat other human beings in the correct format. I’m freaking 14 years old and I’m 5x more mature than most people who play online games. And they are mostly 18 and older. But I’m still more mature than these people. Someone needs to teach these people some manners because I’m absolutely sick of the immaturity and incompetence of the gaming community. The fact that people do not care for one another. The fact that people have no heart and no sense to think about other’s feelings. Maybe these are why there are bad guys in the world. Maybe these are why people commit suicide everyday. I’M NOT DOING IT. But I can tell this is why people do it because they cannot withstand the crap going on with people in the human race. The reason why people are so mad at the world. Someone has to do something about this. Because I cannot embrace this crap anymore. Even though there will still be some douchebag, SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE. Gaming is deteriorating every year goes by. Doesn’t anybody remember the old days where it didn’t matter if you were a noob? Doesn’t anybody remember that people didn’t do all this annoying crap? I heard from people, back at CoD4, people gave less of a crap what your KD was. Basically, it was all about FUN. Doesn’t anyone remember that? Now, people will put you down in gaming. People become so threatening and become an enemy of each other in gaming now. Why are people so mean in gaming? Tell me why because I am extremely disappointed in the community right now. If people actually became nice to one another, I bet that the world would be 90% better because people wouldn’t be killing each other all the time. I’m sick of people arguing and arguing and calling each other names over party chat. It’s annoying to the point where I might actually give up playing in general. The shooter community is absolute trash and they need some help. They have no etiquette training and they have no way of communicating to others properly. Everywhere you are in gaming, you’re this for doing this. You’re that for doing that.

I have been LOOKING for a GOOD game for PS2 and PS3, and are racing games, mostly Need For Speed games, and to where I can have the best of fun with another friend or player right beside me while playing. Because I’m kind of slacking off FPS games right now because most people hack those type of games and don’t want to play fair because they’re little punks and wimps, and are unfairly aggervating. And the other reason is that I hardly play split screen on FPS games, I’m mostly online multiplayer, but lately everyone has left me for Black Ops 2, and so now, ALL I want is a little bit of something to savor that I’m really good at, Need For Speed. And why I want offline NFS games only, because one day, someone is going to come over, and if nothing else, we will run for NFS, and it needs to be spit screen. And also I’m in that kind of situation right now. So if someone actually reads this, please set up a REAL list of offline multiplayer racing games. And not all of them that even don’t have offline, like NFS Undercover.

I know not to judge it as a silent hill game, because it’s obviously much different. However, I have been looking for a good multiplayer action (as in not turn based) dungeon crawling game on the Vita with some good graphics; and it looks like a pretty decent candidate.

So anyways, what are the pros and cons of the game? I really like the more modern horror esthetic as opposed to the normal “medieval style”. It sort of reminds me of the game from the movie “Stay Alive”. Are there any scary moments in the game?

My main worry with the game, is that from the videos it looks very monotonous and repetitive. Is there any strategizing, or dodging in the game? Or am I just going to be running through mashing the same buttons and perhaps a few spells or items along the way?

I used to play games like Champions of Norath, and Gauntlet; those were pretty fun. I also played the recent Diablo and I hated it, because it BEYOND too repetitive.

Things I am looking for in this type of game:

Some decent puzzles. I like having to figure things out. If it’s just a matter of searching the room for a key, over and over again; like the first few levels I have seen; then I am probably not going to like it.

Active online play, I don’t want to spend eternity waiting for a room.

Customization. I think this is the most important feature for these types of games, I want to be able to create a unique player. Can I choose the race (I am Asian)? Are there lots of different costumes to choose from?

Also, is there any sort of crafting system? I love complex crafting systems in games. I don’t like turn based by Mana Khemia was one of my favorites; simply because the crafting system was really fun to explore.

I’m not really into music or racing or games like that. Mostly, I’d prefer more action oriented suggestions. Also, fps’s are okay if they’re fun and not too serious or straightforward.
