Sounds like a virus, however I use mac and primarily Blackberry. When I tried to log on manually I had to reset my password as google had suspended my account for unusual activity. Turns out my account had be logged into from an IP address in China. Any ideas anyone? Thanks top2, so if I change the password it should stop?

I opened my emails today, all OK. This afternoon, the email folders & site is completly empty. There is a profane sentence in the recent contact? area. Now I’m hearing I’ve sent old emails with profane additions as replies to some of my contacts. It certainly looks like I’ve been hacked. So what do I do now?

People listed in my address book keep receiving SPAM mail that is coming from my account. Obviously this is some sort of virus or I have been hacked. Is there a way to get this to stop without having to change my email address?

I think the reason it was disabled was because I stupidly didn’t put in my real name for google+. I hope this can be resolved soon. Thanks. I figure it was because of google+ because it was the very last thing I did with my account. This has never happened before and I never do shady things on my account.

How would I go about contacting gmail about this?

I mean whenever I add them they accept me as a friend and they ask me do I know you?. I say no but then that’s it. I think that its good to meet new people on the internet. Okay I have some of their numbers too but is it bad to add anyone on facebook?

I’m having a problem with my husband hacking my gmail chat logs without knowing my gmail password. My conversations are off the record so they are not being stored so I’m at a loss as to how he is able to access them without actually getting into my email account. I have nothing to hide from him but he takes things that he reads the wrong way and it is causing nothing but fights between us. I’ve asked him to stop doing this but he continues. Does anyone know how he might be doing this?

Just before new year’s I got a notice from Google that someone had tried to access my Google account from an unknown location, and Google blocked it; very nice of them. I immediately changed my password. What I also did was request an account activity log from Google, which is also a very nice feature. Though when I browsed that log, I found an extra function which adds another password for foreign computers, which is sent by Google to your cellphone. I assumed this message would be sent every time you try to actually access your account (correct me if I’m wrong!). Now I randomly get this message which such a password when I’m not even on the internet, so I assume someone is again trying to access my account. I noticed that those passwords sent by phone aren’t very hard; so I’m afraid of getting that hacked as well. Can I do anything more to secure my account? If not, would it be possible to create a new account and have that quickly link back to all my necessities (I use my google account for lots of things like Google Docs, Gmail, various website logins, since I’m a programmer).

Location and IP of the foreign login before new year’s: China – 175.31.128.188 Well Ann Sers, it’s perfectly clear you didn’t read the entire post, since I already do all the things you’re telling me about, that’s pretty standard issue. So sorry, but you’re no help at all.

It hasn’t happened but what is the protocol to take if a gmail account is hacked? Is there a way to secure an account more than the default? Does google have a phone number?! These three first answers are ridiculous because hackers often use malicious software can just copy what you type in. There must be a better answer out there.

3 Ymail accounts hacked in the last few weeks (valid passwords used). 2 Accounts hardly ever used a few weeks ago and now my main account. Spurious emails sent to all my contacts. It seems from a search on the web that there has been a security issue that is supposedly now fixed. Well it isn’t. I don’t store any passwords on the machine and one of the accounts had only ever been used a couple of times. Is the only way to fix this is to move away from Yahoo mail?

My friend and I had a conversation through emails on Gmail. We’re still keeping the conversation going, but I have had my email account randomly hacked before. Is there any way to make a label for my emails (since Gmail doesn’t use folders anymore) that I can only open with a password? I know people are saying all emails are also shown in the ‘All Mail’ label, but I was wondering if there is any way they could not appear there? If it’s not possible, that’s alright. But if it is, could someone tell me? Thanks.

    Hello

I had a problem logging into my Google Mail account, and to get in I was told that I need to change my password, which I did. When I was in the process of this, I was told that this was because Google systems had detected a violation of security, but there is no report on the nature of the violation. I do not know the nature of the violation myself, because I have never allowed my ‘log in’ data to get accessed by other people, and I do not know of how else a security violation could have taken place.

I decided that I need to contact Google to find that out, so that their customer service personnel can help me to know what the security violated was that Google systems detected. To do this, I went to http://www.google.com/intl/en/contact/; but I cannot understand which part of this page is the appropriate part to start navigating, to get to the contact address that I need for this situation; and from that I in-turn need to know where to go beyond that stage (it basically looks like I have to navigate through a link-maze).

Can you let me know what I need to do?

When i try to see if what kind of message he would get if he keeps hacking it, I click on the password help option, put my account, and it says that this account has been closed, but it says that I can fill out an account recovery form and get my account back. I DON’T WANT THAT!!! I want it to be gone with no chance of recovery! He can easily fill out that form and gain access to it!!! Is there anything I can do? Can i contact google?? So a few months ago my Gmail account was hacked and my name was changed completely to someone I don’t even know. When I finally caught on, I went and changed my password and I was never able to change my name. The weird thing is that my name appears fine when I try to access my account, like my full name is still there but every time I send an email the name is incorrect. I’ve tried almost every setting and I can’t find how to change that name because under settings my name is correct. it only appears incorrect when I send an email and I find this very annoying because I use my Gmail account A LOT.

Can someone please help me with this! Thank you!
