This may seem like a simple question but what is the difference between the army and the marines? I know they are both different branches of the military and they both have different uniforms and they each have different requirements for joining, but other than that how do the two differ?

I would like to become a tank operator for the army when I am old enough but I would like to know before I talk to recruiters. I would preferably like to be a loader, and would like to know more about this job.

I want to join the army. What are the minimal requirements for push-ups, sit-ups, and the two mile run? Do I have to meet these requirements before I begin basic?

I just signed up for the army and got sworn in. And im going to the army as active duty. My job is 42A Human Resource Specialist (desk job). So im planning to do two years of a junior (community college) in the army. So i can transfer the credits to a major state university. I planning to do the major university courses online. So could I do that? And since my job is a desk job would it be easier to do college than being infantry ? And could i take courses at the army base that the credits could transfer to a major university?

I’m almost 18 and want to join either the Army and the Marines. What I need to know is what is the difference combat wise? I’ve heard that the Marines just go for the fighting? Does the Army see a lot of fighting? What is the difference in missions carried out? Please help, and I need good, solid answers, not “the Army are the whimps and clean up crew” or “the Marines are the bullet sponges” like some people I’ve talked to have said. I just need good, clear answers. Thanks!

As in the topic: What degree do you need to qualify for studying in a online university recognized by the US army? (Is graduating from High School enough or do you need any further courses?) And do they accept diplomas from other countries(Poland)? If not, what does a high school graduate from a different country need to do in order to qualify?

Assuming that they don’t say anything obvious or you see any obvious symbols of Army or Marines, what are some key differences between Army soldiers on the ground, and Marine soldiers?

Because I’ve watched movies, like especially movies about the iraq war, where the soldiers are in desert camo, helmets, etc, and end up being marines sometimes, and army other times. What are the differences I’m not aware of?

In order to get Army achievements into the paper I know there is some department you have to go through in order to have them send an official notice to your newspaper. My son said at basic someone came by from this department and got everyone information to send to their hometown newspapers but he cant remember what the name of it was. He recently had an achievement that I would like put in our newspaper but I cant figure out which department in the army needs to be contacted. Any ideas?

I wish to join the army after high school to help pay for college and pursue my career choice. But my parents refuse to talk about it any time it comes up. Every time I request army info in the mail they hide it or throw it away and every time recruiters call they say im not interested. What do I do?

Im going into the army as infantry. I was just wondering how many people actually fight? Because I know that many Army jobs do not actually have them go to war and fight. And why do Marines and Army fight all the time? Because Army Infantry and The Marines do the same thing!

My boyfriend is graduating from Fort Leonard Wood for Army Basic Training in 3 and a half weeks. I can barely find anything National Guard for him as a gift, but I see tons of Army. Is it offensive if I buy him something army? National Guard is a part of the army, a smaller branch so it’s harder to find for. I need advice, so thanks for the help!

I signed a 3yr contract with the army active duty, but I never boarded the plane to leave to basic training. Am I in any legal problems? My recruiter was too mad at me to give me information. Do I still have to complete those 3yrs?

What does a specialist in the army do? Bonus points if you can explain the requirements and rank system. It would also be great if you can explain specialist duties (or lack of specialist ranks) in the Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

I know that Pakistan’s army was quite prominent during flood relief, but how many personnel were involved in it roughly? This includes everything from soldiers to pilots to army figures co-ordinating the relief… a vague number will do, and a source if you could back it up (please).

    Thanks
Rofl… didn’t know that you guys were so ignorant…

And by the way, Pakistan has one of the world’s strongest armies.
