I’m planning on getting a PS3 in early May, but I’ve heard some rumors of it getting hacked again like it did like 2 years ago?

Is there anyway to prevent my own from getting hacked if that does happen? Such as, not entering any credit information and not giving other players my email(/user name) or password?

Sorry if this questions sounds dumb, I just want to make sure this is a safe buy.

(Also, I don’t plan on waiting to get a PS4. It honestly doesn’t sound like that big of an improvement from the PS3.)

So a relative is trying to get me off the computer by telling me that she read an article about how overusing the computers everyday (around 6 – 8 hours a day) can decrease the chance of someone giving birth.

This is not about laptops being on the lap 24/7 and kills semen. This is about what is exactly said, that if a computer user uses computers daily, he or she will have a lesser chance to have a child.

If my computer is shared in a network but there are some unlocked folders kept in another Locked folder with the option Shared with Nobody, then are those folders which are kept in the Locked folder really protected from the view of other computer users who have access to my computer via the shared network? If they can’t have access to those folders, can they copy those folders without my permission?
Dear roderick_young, This is my personal computer and I use Windows Xp. I did not know that the share with other computer option in the control panel of my computer was on where it said share file, image etc. But all of my private folders were locked or kept in the folder share with Nobody. I noticed the share with option on only today ever since I have been using this computer for past four months.

So, can others have access to those locked folders or can can others copy those locked folders to their computer?

can you please explain it to me in a bit more detail?

I was on the internet and my computer got infected, and my anti virus software was out of date so it wouldn’t delete the infections. I deleted my computer users and all of my files. (btw, this is not my real email, haha.) I created a new user on my computer, but it currently has none of my info on it and it does not say it is infected anymore. So does this mean it is still ok to get on my bank accounts, work sites, and emails? Or should i reload all of my computer software?

I work in a high school (8-12th graders) and was wondering, in general, what are some ways to unify all computer users in the administration side and make the job functions easier for teachers, and staff members such as the principal.

I have a few ideas, e.g. installing a network drive to be accessed throughout all computers to share files amongst each other and have a server up and running for the lab workstations but I still have ways to go with the staff workstations where they are still unrestricted in many aspects and are not connected to a domain. I am wondering if it would be best to log everyone on a domain and work from there. The only reason why I am reluctant is the user’s reluctance to relinquish user privileges.

All in all, I just like to hear some ideas and opinions.

I am looking for computer related blogs to follow that would be of interest to everyday computer users.
Particularly blogs that have content on basic internet tips, program/user tips, fun ideas that are accessible to the average person.
    Any ideas?

I’m looking for something that can prevent the computer user to access certain softwares, in a way that it would need a password to open them.

If you know some program that can help, please tell me. Thank you advance.

These two seem to be the same thing, minus the fact that twitter can text you people’s updates. Why get a twitter when you can just use facebook?

I am having trouble starting up my computer. It was fine up until a couple hours ago when I turned it on. It says:
    BootDevice Not Found
Please install an operating system on your computer.
    Hard Disk – (3FO)

And earlier, a black “window” popped up called System32 I think. It was just black, and it was possible to write in it. Not knowing what it is, I closed it by pressing The x in the corner.

I have ALOT of documents on it that I desperatly need asap. I can’t start it up, and that scares me as a not very advanced computer user. What has happened and can I fix it? Is it atleast possible to recover my documents?

    Any help is highly appreciated!

I have heard about the original twitter app “Twitter”, echofon, and TweetDeck. I want to know what is the best twitter app out of these 3? Or better yet, do you know another app that is better than the ones I have already listed? I want to know the best one that has the overall best positive reviews.

I’ve been trying to figure this Twitter thing out and apparently it’s good for bloggers and famous people and businesspeople to share news about what’s going on. My question is, what purpose does it serve for regular people that don’t have a new album out or anything? Do you just tell people stuff like “Out with my friends” or whatever?

Also, if you get Twitter, can you just follow celebrities to see what they’re up to and not tweet about anything?

My friend logged on her twitter account on my iPhone (as well as mine being logged in), but then logged herself out. Ever since I still receive her notifications, which is very annoying! I’ve tried re-installing twitter and logging myself out too. It hasn’t helped.

How can I stream Twitter Feeds to my Facebook page in real-time, without any delay? I used to use “Smart Tweets For Pages” in Facebook, but now, I have to administer the Twitter pages that I want to feed to my Facebook page. RSS Graffiti is delayed a little bit. What application can I use that does this instantly?

I had my twitter account for 1 day and it’s already suspended! I have no idea what I exactly did wrong, but I followed the directions on other websites of what to do, but I’m now just wondering how long it usually takes until Twitter unsuspends your account if they actually do? I’m not exactly a patient person.. (: Thanks!
